Direct seed in garden 2nd week of May to 2nd week of June. Calendula are an annual but they often reseed themselves in the garden bed. Sprinkle seed in flower bed and lightly work into the soil, keep area watered until they germinate, watering daily as rain is often not enough. Calendula flowers are known for their healing properites and a staple ingredient for homemade salves and balms. Seed can be harvested once dry and brown and stored for years in a jar.
